God Keeps His Promises
Good morning my God, Faith, Grace and dachshund family. I’m thankful to be able to sit behind this computer and spread the gospel over Facebook. I’m thankful for each one of you who take the time to read what I believe God put in my heart to write. I am sure most of you know how hard it can be when you are trying to explain God, Jesus, and scripture to someone especially the unsaved. So, as I prayed about what I should write today. I stopped and looked at our page. God is faithful to preform His word.
A few seconds into my scrolling I came across a video posted by Angela Prater Hobbs, who is a member of this group. I watched the entire video and It nearly brought me to tears, the video itself wasn’t particularly emotional, but it spoke to my spirit when Tim referenced Philippians 4:13 (ESV)
13 I can do all things through him who strengthens me. So let me give you some context as to why this video impacted me in such a way.
I take my nine-year-old granddaughter to school everyday and I pick her up, she essentially lives here. When school started in August I initiated a prayer routine with her when we are waiting to drop her off. I have a small bottle of anointing oil that I keep in my truck, each day I anoint her head and pray over her, her teacher, and the rest of the staff. I gave my granddaughter the scripture Philippians 4:13 repeat back to before she get out of my truck, and then we fist bump, after she repeats after me I got this.
The first grading period she got a B in math, the second she got an A. A few days ago, she got a progress report, and she got a 66 in math, we are at the halfway pot of the third grading period. So, as you might expect she is disappointed so much and she is crying. At this point I’m starting to question God in my head. But my granddaughter is unaware how much agony my spirit is in at that moment. She does not understand faith like I think I do; in my heart I’m asking God what happened. I’m reminding God that I pray your word over her every day and her score is going in the wrong direction.
Keep the Faith
At this point my faith is wavering ,because I expected a higher score and so did my granddaughter, she study, I quizzed her and we believed that she would have a better outcome. So, as I considered what transpired on her test which accounts for fifty percent of her grade, God reminded me that He is in the center of this situation through the video and His word. We read in Genesis 16 Hagar has been sent away by Saria because she is pregnant with Abram’s son who she allowed to do so.
So Hagar leaves and as she is on her journey God send an angle to Hagar with a message. Genesis 16:11-13 (NIV)
11 The angel of the LORD also said to her: “You are now with child and you will have a son. You shall name him Ishmael, for the LORD has heard of your misery.
12 He will be a wild donkey of a man; his hand will be against everyone and everyone’s hand against him, and he will live in hostility toward all his brothers.”
13 She gave this name to the LORD who spoke to her: “You are the God who sees me,” for she said, “I have now seen the One who sees me.”
The interesting part to this story is what Hagar said, she said El Roi (You are the God who sees me). Beforehand the angel told Hagar that He would increase her descendants. In other words God was going to give her more than she had at that moment. The angel told Hagar to go back and submit to herself to Saria, after she had sent her away. So, as I wondered what this had to do with my granddaughter God is speaking submit yourself, your faith and your granddaughter to me.
In conclusion, in the video God changed the scripture that He wanted Tim to share. It did not make sense at the time but three years later he found out what God was doing in the background.
We walk by faith and not by sight. The writer of Hebrews said Hebrews 10:39 (MSG)
39 But we’re not quitters who lose out. Oh, no! We’ll stay with it and survive, trusting all the way. Hebrews 11:1 (MSG)
1 The fundamental fact of existence is that this trust in God, this faith, is the firm foundation under everything that makes life worth living. It’s our handle on what we can’t see.
I know someone is struggling with something they are believing God for and have not seen it yet, or things seem to be going well and all of a sudden, the bottom fall out. God want you to know HE SEES YOU; HE SEES ME, HE SEES MY GRANDDAUGHTER!!!https://www.bing.com/search?q=god+is+faithful+scriptures&cvid=fd1d5cb1df504035a0a30e277ec45e04&aqs=edge.2.0j69i57j0l6j69i60.7778j0j1&pglt=41&FORM=ANNTA1&PC=EDGEDSE#:~:text=God%20Is%20Faithful%3F-,https%3A//www.openbible.info/topics/god_is_faithful,-2%20Timothy%202
