## Introduction to Absolute Truth

In a world filled with diverse beliefs, conflicting opinions, and cultural relativism, the concept of absolute truth is often dismissed or ignored. Many individuals, influenced by postmodern thought, reject the idea that there can be any objective or universal truth. In contrast, the Bible presents a clear and unwavering perspective on absolute truth.

The Foundation of Truth in http://goddachshundsfaithgrace.comthe Bible

God as the Source of Truth

The Bible proclaims that God is the ultimate source of truth. Psalm 31:5 states, “Into your hands I commit my spirit; deliver me, LORD, my faithful God.” This verse not only emphasizes God’s faithfulness but also implies that He is the ultimate standard of truth. In John 14:6, Jesus declares, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” This bold statement underscores the centrality of truth in the Christian faith.

The Word of God as Truth

The Bible is regarded as God’s Word, which contains and communicates His truth. 2 Timothy 3:16-17 states, “All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting, and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.” The Bible’s divine origin ensures its reliability and trustworthiness as a source of truth.

Jesus Christ as the Embodiment of Truth

In the New Testament, Jesus Christ is portrayed as the embodiment of truth. Colossians 2:9 states, “For in Christ all the fullness of the Deity lives in bodily form.” Jesus, being fully God and fully human, perfectly exemplifies and communicates God’s truth to humanity.

Absolute Truth in Moral Issues

The Ten Commandments

One of the most well-known expressions of absolute truth in the Bible is the Ten Commandments, found in Exodus 20:1-17. These commandments provide a moral framework for human behavior, outlining fundamental principles such as honoring one’s parents, not committing murder, and not stealing. The Ten Commandments serve as an objective moral standard, reflecting God’s unchanging character and His expectations for human conduct.

Jesus’ Teachings on Morality

Jesus’ teachings also emphasize the importance of absolute truth in moral issues. In the Sermon on the Mount (Matthew 5-7), Jesus provides a comprehensive and challenging exposition of God’s moral standards. He calls His followers to love their enemies, to be pure in heart, and to be peacemakers. Jesus’ teachings provide a clear and authoritative guide for ethical decision-making, grounded in the absolute truth of God’s Word.

The Importance of Absolute Truth in the Christian Faith

The Gospel Message

The Christian faith is built upon the absolute truth of the gospel message: the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. 1 Corinthians 15:3-4 states, “For what I received I passed on to you as of first importance: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures.” The gospel’s foundational truth is non-negotiable and serves as the basis for salvation and eternal life.

The Authority of the Bible

The belief in absolute truth also upholds the authority of the Bible as God’s Word. Christians affirm that the Bible is inspired by God and is, therefore, trustworthy and authoritative in all matters of faith and practice. This conviction enables believers to have confidence in God’s promises and guidance, as well as to resist the temptation to compromise biblical truth for cultural or personal preferences.

The Unity of the Church

The commitment to absolute truth fosters unity within the Christian community. When believers affirm and uphold the core doctrines of the Christian faith, they are united in their understanding of God, salvation, and their shared mission. Ephesians 4:4-6 states, “There is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called to one hope when you were called; one Lord, one faith, one baptism; one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all.” The belief in absolute truth serves as a unifying factor among Christians, transcending cultural, denominational, and generational differences.

Challenges to Absolute Truth in Contemporary Society

Relativism

One of the primary challenges to the concept of absolute truth in contemporary society is the rise of relativism. Relativism asserts that truth is subjective and varies from person to person or culture to culture. This perspective undermines the idea of objective truth and encourages individuals to create their own personal “truths.”

Pluralism

Pluralism is another challenge to the concept of absolute truth. This view promotes tolerance and acceptance of diverse beliefs and religious traditions, often leading to the conclusion that all paths lead to God. While tolerance and respect for others’ beliefs are important, pluralism can erode the conviction that there is objective in the Christian faith.

Skepticism

Skepticism, fueled by postmodern thought and the rise of secularism, also poses a challenge to the belief in absolute truth. This mindset can undermine confidence in the Bible, the Christian faith, and the very notion of truth itself.

Responding to Challenges to Absolute Truth

Apologetics

In response to the challenges of relativism, pluralism, and skepticism, Christians can engage in apologetics. Apologetics is the defense of the Christian faith through reasoned arguments and evidence. By presenting a reasoned case for the existence of God, the reliability of the Bible, and the truth of the gospel, Christians can counteract the arguments of skeptics and demonstrate the validity of their faith.

Personal Testimony

Another way for Christians to respond to challenges to absolute truth is by sharing their personal testimonies. By recounting their own experiences of God’s transforming power and grace, believers can provide a powerful witness to the truth of the gospel. Personal testimonies can also demonstrate the relevance and impact of biblical truth in individuals’ lives, countering the notion that truth is merely a subjective or abstract concept.

Loving Engagement

Lastly, Christians can respond to challenges to absolute truth by engaging others with love and respect. As believers interact with those who hold different beliefs, they can model the love, humility, and grace of Christ. By listening to others’ perspectives and engaging in respectful dialogue, Christians can create opportunities to share the truth of the gospel and to demonstrate the transformative power of God’s Word.

Conclusion

The biblical perspective on absolute truth stands in stark contrast to the relativism, pluralism, and skepticism prevalent in contemporary society. The Bible affirms that God is the ultimate source of truth, and His Word provides a reliable and authoritative guide for faith and practice. In the face of challenges to the concept of absolute truth, Christians can respond with apologetics, personal testimony, and loving engagement, demonstrating the validity and impact of biblical truth in their lives and the

The Call of God

earth, universe, earth is called-4900437.jpg

The call of God is a concept that is deeply rooted in the Bible, and it has been a source of inspiration and guidance for millions of people throughout history. In this blog, we will explore what the call of God means from a biblical perspective, and how it can help us find purpose and meaning in our lives.

What is the Call of God?

The call of God is a divine invitation to follow Him and fulfill His purposes on earth. This call can come in various forms, such as through prayer, dreams, visions, or through other people. In the Bible, we see numerous examples of people who received the call of God, such as Abraham, Moses, Samuel, David, and Paul.

The call of God is not just a call to a specific occupation or vocation, but it is a call to a relationship with God. When we respond to His call, we enter into a deeper relationship with Him and discover the unique purpose that He has for our lives.

Understanding the Call of God

To understand the call of God, we need to have a clear understanding of the nature of God. God is a loving and merciful God who desires to have a personal relationship with each of us. He created us with a specific purpose in mind, and when we respond to His call, we can fulfill that purpose and experience His blessings.

The call of God is not something that we can earn or achieve through our own efforts. It is a gift that God gives to us out of His grace and love. Our response to His call is simply an act of obedience and surrender to His will.

Responding to God’s Call

Responding to the call of God requires faith, courage, and a willingness to obey Him. When we respond to His call, we may face challenges, obstacles, and even opposition from others. But we can trust that God will provide us with the strength and wisdom to overcome these challenges and fulfill His purposes.

The Bible teaches us that responding to the call of God involves a process of transformation. We need to allow God to work in our hearts and minds, and to conform us to His image. This involves letting go of our own desires and ambitions and submitting ourselves to His will.

Conclusion

The call of God is a powerful and life-changing concept that has the power to transform our lives and impact the world around us. When we respond to His call, we enter into a deeper relationship with Him, discover our unique purpose, and experience His blessings. As we seek to understand and respond to the call of God, may we be filled with faith, courage, and a willingness to obey Him.

Condemnation

Unforgiveness leads to condemnation.

Good afternoon my God, Faith ,Grace , and dachshund family , I pray that everyone is having a thoughtful Tuesday. I pray today that you can put someone first before yourself, and pay it forward. The last two or three days we have been discussing un-forgiveness, and forgiveness. This is a very hard topic to cover , because we all grow at different rates , and forgiveness does not come easy to some people for different reasons.

Today I would like to explore with you a first cousin to un-forgiveness. I guess some of you maybe wondering what that would be, and when I state it, some of you might disagree and that’s fine, because this is a discussion. So, I’m going to piggyback a little on the past few days , because I believe they are connected. Many times when we find it hard to forgive someone we end up condemning that person, condemnation is the word for today.

Have you ever noticed how hard it is to train your dachshund babies or children when you find fault in everything they do. You tell them to sit and they stand or to come and they run in the opposite direction, and then you get frustrated, and say you will never learn to sit or come, there’s just no help for you. Some people tell their children you will never amount to anything, or you might say I will never forgive you.

Condemnation can be defined as “to pronounce to be guilty, to sentence to punishment, or to pass judgment against.” kataginosko {kat-ag-in-o’-sko}

from 2596 and 1097

(1) to find fault with, blame

(2) to accuse, condemn

KJV: condemn 2, blame 1

I stated above that condemnation was the first cousin to un-forgiveness and I mention it this way , because a lot of time we have already past judgement on that person, because we might think we are in a better position in Christ. When I don’t forgive some I’m basically passing judgement on that person, like you will never amount to anything, I just spoke a negative word in that person’s life.

Most of you should remember the parable of the woman caught in the act of adultery. John 8:4-11 (KJV)
4  They say unto him, Master, this woman was taken in adultery, in the very act.
5  Now Moses in the law commanded us, that such should be stoned: but what sayest thou?
6   This they said, tempting him, that they might have to accuse him. But Jesus stooped down, and with his finger wrote on the ground, as though he heard them not.
7  So when they continued asking him, he lifted up himself, and said unto them, He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone at her.
8  And again he stooped down, and wrote on the ground.
9  And they which heard it, being convicted by their own conscience, went out one by one, beginning at the eldest, even unto the last: and Jesus was left alone, and the woman standing in the midst.
10  When Jesus had lifted up himself, and saw none but the woman, he said unto her, Woman, where are those thine accusers? hath no man condemned thee?
11   She said, No man, Lord. And Jesus said unto her, Neither do I condemn thee: go, and sin no more.

Un-forgiveness and condemnation are cousins, because we are putting ourselves in God’s place. Jesus had every right and the authority to judge the woman caught in adultery, Jesus was the only person there without sin, but yet He did not condemn her. Jesus was more interested in the woman’s future rather than her past. When it takes someone a long time to forgiven someone , they are continually living in the past and reliving whatever it is that someone has done to them, they have condemn the person and passed judgement on that person.

When you condemn someone you are in effect saying that you are the judge, jury and the executioner. The woman accusers wanted her stoned  to death and according to Jewish law ,she could have been stoned on the spot, but Jesus in His wisdom asked the question. Let him who is without sin cast a stone. As we see in scripture no on cast a stone, and then Jesus make this remarkable statement. John 8:10-11 (KJV) 10  When Jesus had lifted up himself, and saw none but the woman, he said unto her, Woman, where are those thine accusers? hath no man condemned thee? 11   She said, No man, Lord. And Jesus said unto her, Neither do I condemn thee: go, and sin no more.

Inconclusion when we see a brother or sister in sin go to them in private. Matthew 18:15 (NIV)
15  “If your brother sins against you, go and show him his fault, just between the two of you. If he listens to you, you have won your brother over. When we condemn someone, we are passing judgement. We have just as many opportunities to witness than we do to condemn someone.

As we look at the news and, in our homes, and neighborhoods not everyone is a Christian. We cannot condemn them because they might be living a lifestyle that does not conform to the word of God. They may be living in adultery, or homosexuality, drugs, atheist or anything that does not line up with the word of God. It’s simply our job to share Christ and let Holy Spirit do the rest. That’s what Jesus would do.

God is Faithful

God Keeps His Promises

Good morning my God, Faith, Grace and dachshund family. I’m thankful to be able to sit behind this computer and spread the gospel over Facebook. I’m thankful for each one of you who take the time to read what I believe God put in my heart to write. I am sure most of you know how hard it can be when you are trying to explain God, Jesus, and scripture to someone especially the unsaved. So, as I prayed about what I should write today. I stopped and looked at our page. God is faithful to preform His word.

A few seconds into my scrolling I came across a video posted by Angela Prater Hobbs, who is a member of this group. I watched the entire video and It nearly brought me to tears, the video itself wasn’t particularly emotional, but it spoke to my spirit when Tim referenced Philippians 4:13 (ESV)
13  I can do all things through him who strengthens me. So let me  give you some context as to why this video impacted me in such a way.

I take my nine-year-old granddaughter to school everyday and I pick her up, she essentially lives here. When school started in August I initiated a prayer routine with her when we are waiting to drop her off. I have a small bottle of anointing oil that I keep in my truck, each day I anoint her head and pray over her, her teacher, and the rest of the staff. I gave my granddaughter the scripture Philippians 4:13 repeat back to before she get out of my truck, and then we fist bump, after she repeats after me I got this.

The first grading period she got a B in math, the second she got an A. A few days ago, she got a progress report, and she got a 66 in math, we are at the halfway pot of the third grading period. So, as you might expect she is disappointed so much and she is crying. At this point I’m starting to question God in my head. But my granddaughter is unaware how much agony my spirit is in at that moment. She does not understand faith like I think I do; in my heart I’m asking God what happened. I’m reminding God that I pray your word over her every day and her score is going in the wrong direction.

Keep the Faith

At this point my faith is wavering ,because I expected a higher score and so did my granddaughter, she study, I quizzed her and we believed that she would have a better outcome. So, as I considered what transpired on her test which accounts for fifty percent of her grade, God reminded me that He is in the center of this situation through the video and His word. We read in Genesis 16 Hagar has been sent away by Saria because she is pregnant with Abram’s son who she allowed to do so.

So Hagar leaves and as she is on her journey God send an angle to Hagar with a message. Genesis 16:11-13 (NIV)
11  The angel of the LORD also said to her: “You are now with child and you will have a son. You shall name him Ishmael, for the LORD has heard of your misery.
12  He will be a wild donkey of a man; his hand will be against everyone and everyone’s hand against him, and he will live in hostility toward all his brothers.”
13  She gave this name to the LORD who spoke to her: “You are the God who sees me,” for she said, “I have now seen the One who sees me.”

The interesting part to this story is what Hagar said, she said El Roi (You are the God who sees me). Beforehand the angel told Hagar that He would increase her descendants. In other words God was going to give her more than she had at that moment. The angel told Hagar to go back and submit to herself to Saria, after she had sent her away. So, as I wondered what this had to do with my granddaughter God is speaking submit yourself, your faith and your granddaughter to me.

In conclusion, in the video God changed the scripture that He wanted Tim to share. It did not make sense at the time but three years later he found out what God was doing in the background.

We walk by faith and not by sight. The writer of Hebrews said Hebrews 10:39 (MSG)
39  But we’re not quitters who lose out. Oh, no! We’ll stay with it and survive, trusting all the way. Hebrews 11:1 (MSG)
1  The fundamental fact of existence is that this trust in God, this faith, is the firm foundation under everything that makes life worth living. It’s our handle on what we can’t see.

I know someone is struggling with something they are believing God for and have not seen it yet, or things seem to be going well and all of a sudden, the bottom fall out. God want you to know HE SEES YOU; HE SEES ME, HE SEES MY GRANDDAUGHTER!!!https://www.bing.com/search?q=god+is+faithful+scriptures&cvid=fd1d5cb1df504035a0a30e277ec45e04&aqs=edge.2.0j69i57j0l6j69i60.7778j0j1&pglt=41&FORM=ANNTA1&PC=EDGEDSE#:~:text=God%20Is%20Faithful%3F-,https%3A//www.openbible.info/topics/god_is_faithful,-2%20Timothy%202

Take Care of God’s Gift

globe, earth, america-3984876.jpg

Stewards of God’s Creation

Good morning my God, Faith , Grace, and dachshund family, I trust that everyone has had a super Saturday so far. What a great time to be alive, despite how things look we have more opportunities to change the world. If you watch the news things look hopeless. Earthquakes, wars, it’s hard to distinguish one season from the next. The world appears to be in a state of chaos.

The bible records the earth being in this state several times. Genesis 1:1-2 (TLB) 1  When God began creating the heavens and the earth, 2  the earth was a shapeless, chaotic mass, with the Spirit of God brooding over the dark vapors. Genesis 1:3-4 (KJV) 3  And God said, Let there be light: and there was light.
4  And God saw the light, that it was good: and God divided the light from the darkness.

I loved Faith and I love Grace, I posted some pictures of the ramp that I was building for Grace, because I don’t want her to injury her back jumping on and off the bed. When I got to the point that the ramp was almost complete, I stood back looked at and said to myself that looks good. When I started it was just a pile of wood and screws, it was chaotic. The materials was there to make the ramp , but I had to make it, I had to put my plan into action and make what I saw in my mind.

God did the something in Genesis, He saw the chaotic mess that the world was and knew He had to put things back in order. Some of you might ask why, the simple answer is because He loved us. God love us so much that He took the time to repurpose a disordered world and make it in habitual for man to live in without worry or fear, and placed him in the garden. Genesis 2:8 (KJV) 8  And the LORD God planted a garden eastward in Eden; and there he put the man whom he had formed. When Grace ramp is finished I will put it beside the bed and teach her how to go safely up and down to keep her safe. She doesn’t owe me anything, but to use the tool that I made for her.

God created the earth and everything on it for our good and everything was good, but because we have abused the earth, which is to say ab used or abnormal use for the purpose it was intended for, we are at a place in time that the earth is in chaos. I can imagine God looking down and saying “this is not why I created earth”. When you don’t understand the purpose of a thing you will abuse or abnormally use it for something else. Can you imagine me trying to cut a straight line using a hammer, or a screwdriver, another tool that was not made for cutting.

God gave Adam authority over his creation; He gave Adam the privilege to name all the animals and his wife. Adam traded the truth for a lie and transgressed. Adam knew not to eat of the tree, but he missed used his purpose and will. Genesis 2:20-22 (KJV)
20  And Adam gave names to all cattle, and to the fowl of the air, and to every beast of the field; but for Adam there was not found an help meet for him.
21  And the LORD God caused a deep sleep to fall upon Adam, and he slept: and he took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh instead thereof;
22  And the rib, which the LORD God had taken from man, made he a woman, and brought her unto the man. Genesis 3:20 (KJV) 20  And Adam called his wife’s name Eve; because she was the mother of all living. In conclusion so of you might be asking yourself what is Carl trying to say. Glad you enquired, when I looked down at the gift of Grace that God has given me, I don’t take Grace for granted. I try to do everything in my power to keep her safe, no matter how things look. God looked down at a earth that was without formed and void.

God decided to make it a home for mankind so He (God) could network with, but we have failed to take care of the things God has entrusted us with. As you watch the news from your community and around the world look at the abuse that we have caused to our home and to each other. My prayer is that we love each other more than ourselves, to fulfill our purpose as Christians and humans. If I did not love Grace, I would have never made the ramp, if God did not love us He would have never sent His son.

For the spirit of heaviness.

Put on the Garment of Praise

woman, praying, believing-571715.jpg

Good morning my God Faith, Grace, and dachshund family, I pray the everyone is having a wonderful Wednesday. This is the day the Lord has made I will rejoice and be glad in it. Yesterday was a bit rough for me, for some reason my mind kept going back to the day I had let Faith go. Talking about her is just as painful as it was on July 28, 2022. I really don’t know why she was so present in my thoughts yesterday, but she was. So as I meditated God said to put on some music and praise me.

He dropped these scriptures in my heart.  Isaiah 61:1-3 (NIV)
1  The Spirit of the Sovereign LORD is on me, because the LORD has anointed me to preach good news to the poor. He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim freedom for the captives and release from darkness for the prisoners, 2  to proclaim the year of the LORD’s favor and the day of vengeance of our God, to comfort all who mourn, 3  and provide for those who grieve in Zion– to bestow on them a crown of beauty instead of ashes, the oil of gladness instead of mourning, and a garment of praise instead of a spirit of despair. They will be called oaks of righteousness, a planting of the LORD for the display of his splendor.

Our emotions are real, our wants, needs, and desires are real, and God used these things that sometime seem bad , and a lot of the times they are. Losing a fur baby, child , parent, friend can be very hard to deal with emotionally but God had give us tools to combat these things when they pop and they will. It’s not a matter if things will go sideways, it’s when. Peter informs us to think it not strange when we face trials.  1 Peter 4:12-13 (NIV) 12  Dear friends, do not be surprised at the painful trial you are suffering, as though something strange were happening to you.
13  But rejoice that you participate in the sufferings of Christ, so that you may be overjoyed when his glory is revealed.

For the reason that are sometimes beyond our control we find ourselves in a emotional or physical battle that we didn’t see coming, and we are brought to a place of mourning, sadness, frustration, and thoughts that don’t lineup with the word of God. During my time of meditation I put a CD on and this song started playing “ No Weapon Formed Against you Shall Prosper” immediately Isiah 54:16-17 came to mind. Isaiah 54:16-17 (NIV) 16  “See, it is I who created the blacksmith who fans the coals into flame and forges a weapon fit for its work. And it is I who have created the destroyer to work havoc;
17  no weapon forged against you will prevail, and you will refute every tongue that accuses you. This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD, and this is their vindication from me,” declares the LORD.

I’m in line waiting to pick my granddaughter up from school, trying to hold the tears back, when the song starts playing and my heart is breaking, because God always has a word for us if we just listen, be quite and be still. God wants us to know that when life happens, we should offer up praise. You can not praise God and think about what your situation is at the same time. When the song came of and I started singing in my truck with just me and God, the heaviness began to lift. It’s easy to praise God when things are going well, but we have to praise Him when things are so good.

Paul and Silas praised and worshipped God from a prison cell. Acts 16:24-26 (NIV)
24  Upon receiving such orders, he put them in the inner cell and fastened their feet in the stocks.
25  About midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God, and the other prisoners were listening to them.
26  Suddenly there was such a violent earthquake that the foundations of the prison were shaken. At once all the prison doors flew open, and everybody’s chains came loose.

In conclusion when we find ourselves with a heavy spirit, we should put on the garment of praise. When we praise God and get our minds off our current situation God can start working on our problems. Praise releases you for the situation and it releases Holy Spirit to rectify your problem, state of mind or whatever the issue is. Paul and Silas were in the lowest part of the prison and sometimes we feel we can’t go any lower, but if we open our mouth and begin to praise God and give Him the worship, He deserves your circumstances will change. Psalm 37:7 (NIV) 7  Be still before the LORD and wait patiently for him; do not fret when men succeed in their ways, when they carry out their wicked schemes.

Desire the Sincere Milk of the Word

yogurt, milk, white-2868179.jpg

The Word does the body good!

Good evening my God, Faith Grace, and Dachshund family, I pray that everyone has had a great day thus far. I apologize for the late post but, I have been going none stop since 7am. And as my day went on God reminded me about the situation with Grace a few days ago when she ate my cleaning cloth. He reminded me that as Christian that we sometimes eat things that is not good for us spiritually. Because we have not properly discerned and studied His word and when we try to digest it we throw it up like Grace did with the cloth. 2 Timothy 2:15 (KJV) 15  Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

The sincere milk of the word is a phrase used in the Bible to describe the teachings and messages contained within its pages. This phrase is often used in reference to the New Testament and is meant to convey the idea that the words contained within are pure, nourishing, and essential for spiritual growth. Hebrews 5:12 (KJV) 12  For when for the time ye ought to be teachers, ye have need that one teach you again which be the first principles of the oracles of God; and are become such as have need of milk, and not of strong meat. Hebrews 5:13 (KJV) 13  For every one that useth milk is unskilful in the word of righteousness: for he is a babe.

In 1 Peter 2:2, the apostle Peter writes, “Like newborn babies, crave pure spiritual milk, so that by it you may grow up in your salvation.” This passage speaks to the importance of regularly consuming the teachings of the word in order to grow in our faith and understanding of God. The word “milk” is used here to symbolize the basic teachings of the faith, which are necessary for a new believer to grasp in order to build a foundation for their spiritual journey.

Just as physical milk is essential for the growth and development of a baby, the sincere milk of the word is essential for the growth and development of our spiritual lives. Physical milk provides the nutrients and sustenance that our bodies need to grow and function properly. Similarly, the sincere milk of the word provides the spiritual sustenance that we need to grow and mature in our faith. This spiritual nourishment comes from regularly reading, studying, and meditating on the teachings and messages contained within the Bible.

One of the key ways that we can consume the sincere milk of the word is through prayerful study and reflection. This involves taking time each day to read and reflect on the teachings of the Bible, allowing the Holy Spirit to guide us and reveal the truth contained within its pages. This process helps us to gain a deeper understanding of God and His will for our lives, and allows us to grow in our faith and walk with Him.

Another way to consume the sincere milk of the word is through the hearing of preaching and teaching. This involves regularly attending church services and Bible studies, where the teachings of the Bible are expounded upon and applied to our lives. Hearing the word taught in this way helps us to better understand its message and apply its teachings to our daily lives.

In addition to consuming the sincere milk of the word through prayerful study and hearing teaching, we can also grow in our understanding of it through fellowship with other believers. This involves spending time with other Christians and participating in group activities, such as small groups or Bible studies. Through this type of fellowship, we are able to learn from one another, encourage one another, and grow together in our understanding of the sincere milk of the word. In conclusion, the sincere milk of the word is a phrase that refers to the pure and nourishing teachings and messages contained within the pages of the Bible. It is essential for our spiritual growth and development, and can be consumed through prayerful study, hearing preaching and teaching, and fellowship with other believers. By regularly consuming the sincere milk of the word, we are able to grow in our faith, deepen our understanding of God, and live out His will for our lives.

Through The Bible

Read Through The Bible As It Happened

Title: A Great Way to Read Your Bible!

A new Bible reading program has been released which approaches the Bible in a new and unique way than most people are used to. It offers the reader an opportunity to read all of the way through the Bible – to do it chronologically – and to do it in just a year! For people who have never done that, which includes the vast majority of people, it offers them a chance to stand out in their peer groups, and to satisfy their deep desire to please the God they serve.

It is a known fact that:

1 – Less than 10% of all Christians have ever read the Bible all of the way through. Many have never even considered doing it, or thought it was not attainable for them.

2 – Most Christians have difficulty understanding many parts of the Bible. Although a few major Bible texts are familiar and well understood, large sections of the Bible remain obscure to the average layman.

3 – Because 21st Century life is so fast paced, many Christians have left meaningful devotional times with God out of their lives. That may be because they have not known how to confidently approach this subject.

The new program is “Through the Bible . . . as It Happened”.  The person who uses this program will gain a much better understanding of Scripture because of how the program works and because of what features are included in it.

In short, it is a chronological reading of the Bible, with extensive helps included with it. Chronological means “in order”. The Bible as it appears in its standard form takes a “themed” approach to its material. The authors who wrote the Scriptures were interested in their particular situations and events. So they compiled their work in what we call “book” formats, subject matter being their guide.

There are 39 books in the Old Testament and 27 in the New. They cover a time span of 4,500 years and they are not neatly placed in the order that the events occurred. In fact, everything jumps back and forth. That makes it hard for the reader to comprehend much of what takes place and the relationship of events to each other is largely lost.

The author of the program. David Shreve, has re-arranged the Bible’s material so that it flows smoothly in order. Event follows event in the order in which they happened. That’s how most novels are written. From the beginning scenes, through the myriad of events, leading to a conclusion!

So, one of the great things about this program is how it works – that is its foundation.

But there are other chronological approaches to the Bible in existence. Some are simple general re-arrangements taking up no more than a piece of paper. Some are complete hard cover volumes which take the Scripture text and re-arrange it within the volume. What makes this program stand out from them?

1 – The re-arrangement itself. The author began this effort in 1974, long before any such materials existed.  Through the years, as he read through the Bible each year himself using this program, he researched and compared – and revised – and revised – continually, until he released his program to the general public in 2018. There is probably not another chronological program this thorough in its development. Getting the order of events exactly right was a priority for him and a painstaking effort – and the results prove the value of that effort.

2 – The study helps which are included. It is hard to find a chronological reading program which explains some of the more difficult-to-understand portions of the Bible. Most simply attempt a re-arrangement of the Scriptures and let it go at that. That’s not enough for most laymen. They need some good, solid explanations of material they are reading.

Mr. Shreve is degreed in the Bible and has a minor in Greek. He has spent his life studying the Bible, from his days at Cedarville University until the present. His library consists of hundreds of volumes in theology and Bible related books. His views are mainstream and evangelical. In the few instances where he diverges from orthodoxy, he alerts the reader that he is expressing a minor view. The reader doesn’t have to worry.

The notes are extensive, too. The project is over 1,200 pages, so not much is left out. He treats some of the Biblical material from a theological perspective and some from a devotional perspective. He feeds the head and the heart!

The reader would be well served in using this material. It can he found here.

Consistency

Pray Without Ceasing

Good evening my God, Faith, Grace and dachshund family, I trust that everyone has had a sanctified Saturday. I’m learning that I have to be more consistent writing post. It’s easy to let other things get you away of what we are called to do. Sometime for me it just boil down to time management and planning.  It’s no different in the kingdom of God.

Consistency is a powerful quality that is highly valued in the Bible. From the Old Testament to the New Testament, the Bible emphasizes the importance of consistency in various aspects of our lives, including our faith, behavior, and relationships.

One of the most notable examples of consistency in the Bible is found in the life of Abraham. Abraham was known for his unwavering faith in God, despite the many challenges he faced. In Genesis 12:1-3, God called Abraham to leave his home and go to a land that God would show him, and Abraham obeyed without hesitation. Abraham’s faith was tested many times throughout his life, but he remained steadfast and consistent in his obedience to God.

Another example of consistency in the Bible is found in the life of Joshua, who succeeded Moses as the leader of the Israelites. After Moses’ death, God chose Joshua to lead the Israelites into the Promised Land. Joshua was instructed by God to be strong and courageous, and to consistently follow the laws and commands that God had given to the Israelites. Through his unwavering obedience and consistency, Joshua was able to successfully lead the Israelites into the Promised Land.

In the New Testament, the apostle Paul also speaks about the importance of consistency. In Philippians 4:9, Paul writes, “Whatever you have learned or received or heard from me, or seen in me—put it into practice. And the God of peace will be with you.” This verse highlights the importance of consistency in our faith, as we are called to put into practice what we have learned and received from the teachings of Jesus and the apostles.

1 Thessalonians 5:15-18 (ETRV)
15 Be sure that no one pays back wrong for wrong. But always try to do what is good for each other and for all people.
16 Always be full of joy.
17 Never stop praying.
18 Whatever happens, always be thankful. This is how God wants you to live in Christ Jesus.

Consistency is also important in our relationships with others. In Colossians 4:2, Paul writes, “Devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful and thankful. And pray for us, too, that God may open a door for our message, so that we may proclaim the mystery of Christ, for which I am in chains.” This verse emphasizes the importance of consistency in prayer and in our relationships with others. We are called to be watchful and thankful, and to consistently pray for others and share the message of the gospel.

In conclusion, the Bible emphasizes the power of consistency in our lives. Whether it is in our faith, behavior, or relationships, we are called to be consistent in our obedience to God and in our efforts to serve Him. By consistently following God’s commands and putting His teachings into practice, we can experience the peace and blessings that come from a life lived in obedience to Him.

Protect Your Thought Life

Taking thoughts captive

man, thinking, doubt-5723449.jpg

Good morning my God, Faith, Grace, and , dachshund family. I trust that everyone has had a great weekend, if you are reading this message, you have had a great weekend despite how bad you might think it was. When I started this group it was my hope that I could use an analogy everyday to relate the Bible and dachshunds to make my points, and for the most part I think I have. As I read some of the replies, I have taken note that as Christians some of us are being defeated.  Today I want to dive a little deeper into protecting our minds, heart, and thought life. Some of the members expressed problems they were having in this area.

I’m not a physiologist or doctor of any kind, so I want to attempt to explain this from a Biblical prospective. Some you might ask where ,how why do I have theses thoughts and how do I stop them. Most of us have five senses , touch, smell, hearing , sight, taste. Our senses can be and are gateways for the enemy to attack us. What we listen to, read ,smell , taste or touch can bring about a negative thought. Matthew 6:22 (KJV) 22  The light of the body is the eye: if therefore thine eye be single, thy whole body shall be full of light. Matthew 6:23 (KJV) 23  But if thine eye be evil, thy whole body shall be full of darkness. If therefore the light that is in thee be darkness, how great is that darkness! Colossians 2:21-23 (KJV) 21  (Touch not; taste not; handle not; 22  Which all are to perish with the using;) after the commandments and doctrines of men? 23  Which things have indeed a shew of wisdom in will worship, and humility, and neglecting of the body; not in any honour to the satisfying of the flesh.

Our five senses has a lot to do with our thought life, Job 31:1 (NIV) 1  “I made a covenant with my eyes not to look lustfully at a girl. Job knew the dangers of looking a woman lustfully, he knew that once he allowed what his eyes saw to enter his mind and he meditated on it that it would bring about sin. This is what happened to David when he was watching Bathsheba bathe on her balcony. David allowed what he saw to become a stronghold so much so that he slept with Bathsheba and had her husband killed in battle so he could be with her even though she was married. 2 Samuel 11:1-5 (ETRV)
1 In the spring, when kings go out to war, David sent Joab, his officers, and all the Israelites out to destroy the Ammonites. Joab’s army surrounded their capital city, Rabbah. David stayed in Jerusalem. 2 One evening he got up from his bed and walked around on the roof of his house. From there he saw a woman bathing. She was very beautiful, 3 so David sent for his officers and asked them who she was. An officer answered, “That is Bathsheba, daughter of Eliam. She is the wife of Uriah the Hittite.” 4 David sent messengers to go and bring Bathsheba to him. She had just purified herself after her monthly time of bleeding. She went to David, he had sexual relations with her, and then she went back to her house. 5 Later, Bathsheba became pregnant. She sent word to him saying, “I am pregnant.”

The sin that David committed began because he looked and lusted after another woman, he thought about how to get her for himself, then he slept with her, and tried to blame it on her husband and when that didn’t work he had her husband sent to the front line of the battle where he knew he would be killed. We have four other senses that we use to collect information in the world around us. They are called gates we have to guard these gates by being critical what we allow into our minds and hearts. We have to be very careful what we listen to and watch, these are the two main entry points into our hearts and mind.

The music we listen to is extremely important because it was created by God for God to give Him worship. We have to be vigilant what , and who we listen to. Because satan was the worship leader before he was cast out of heaven he seeks worship through as much as God does. He want us to worship him through song , praise and worship. Ezekiel 28:12-17 (KJV)
12  Son of man, take up a lamentation upon the king of Tyrus, and say unto him, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Thou sealest up the sum, full of wisdom, and perfect in beauty.
13  Thou hast been in Eden the garden of God; every precious stone was thy covering, the sardius, topaz, and the diamond, the beryl, the onyx, and the jasper, the sapphire, the emerald, and the carbuncle, and gold: the workmanship of thy tabrets and of thy pipes was prepared in thee in the day that thou wast created.
14  Thou art the anointed cherub that covereth; and I have set thee so: thou wast upon the holy mountain of God; thou hast walked up and down in the midst of the stones of fire.
15  Thou wast perfect in thy ways from the day that thou wast created, till iniquity was found in thee.
16  By the multitude of thy merchandise they have filled the midst of thee with violence, and thou hast sinned: therefore I will cast thee as profane out of the mountain of God: and I will destroy thee, O covering cherub, from the midst of the stones of fire.
17  Thine heart was lifted up because of thy beauty, thou hast corrupted thy wisdom by reason of thy brightness: I will cast thee to the ground, I will lay thee before kings, that they may behold thee.

In conclusion Paul instructs us to take our thoughts captive to the word of God. 2 Corinthians 10:2-5 (KJV) 2  But I beseech you, that I may not be bold when I am present with that confidence, wherewith I think to be bold against some, which think of us as if we walked according to the flesh.
3  For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh:
4  (For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;) 5  Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;
